LAM Enterprises offers gas logs, vent free, gas log, ventless,  gaslog, ceramic gas log, fireplace log, vented gas log, gas fire log, gas fireplace log, outdoor gas logs, and gas log insert.

We also offer a complete line of Fire Glass, Fire Glass Burners, Fire Glitter, Liquid Fire Bowl, Fireplace Glass, Outdoor Glass, Geo Shapes, Fire Balls, and Fire Stones.

Gas Logs, Vent Free, Ventless, Vented logs by Peterson, Monessen, Rasmussen, Empire, Vanguard, FireGear, Napoleon, Firewerks, Design Dynamics, Moderustic, and Aquatic Glassel.

Monessen Charred Timber Vent Free Gas LogThe choices for a Vent Free Ventless gas fireplace log or Vented gas fireplace log insert has never been larger.  With more innovative designs available in Natural Gas and Propane Gas, you can achieve the look of a vented gas fire log and still retain the heat produced by 99.9% efficient vent free gas log technology.

All of the vent free ventless gas fireplace logs that we sell come equipped with an ODS safety pilot system, piezo ignition, and have been tested and approved by AGA/CSA.  (These gas log heaters comply with ANSI Z21.11.2-2001 Unvented Heaters and also complies with ANSI Z21.60-2000 Decorative Vented Appliances for Solid Fuel Burning Fireplaces.)

Vented gas fireplace ceramic logs have a flame similar to a real wood-burning fire, these units must be used within fully functioning wood burning fireplaces with working chimneys. These logs need virtually the same ventilation as standard wood burning logs and must be used with the damper in the open position.

Vented ceramic gas fireplace logs have many control options such as a simple match light, safety pilot, millivolt "Remote Ready), hi/lo modulating "Remote Ready", and Electronic Ignition systems.  Most vented ceramic gas fireplace logs can product heat up to about 25,000 Btu's and are set up to produce big flames, great look, and some heat.

Gas logs are gas fireplace inserts that burn brightly through glass fireplace doors or screens. These inserts can be turned on and off just as quickly and easily as a complete gas fireplace and they allow the use of your existing fireplace with minimal modification. Most gas fireplaces require electricity in order to automatically ignite. However, many come with the ability to manually start the fire with a match or other source of ignition in case of power outages. Although such operation comes with greater risks, it can be a lifesaver in a power outage or emergency scenario.

We also offer a full line of vent free and ventless ceramic fireplace gas log insert products from R. H. Peterson, Firegear, Empire Comfort Systems, Monessen Hearth Products, Rasmussen, and Vanguard, Moderustic, Aquatic Glassel, and others.

With rapidly increasing prices from ALL manufacturers of gas and wood heating equipment, we have eliminated pricing from some of our pages.

Please call us for SPECIAL INTERNET PRICING on those products.

All of the products we sell are AGA, OMNI, RADCO, CSA, ICBO, UL, ULC approved.

A blazing fireplace without the wood

Our Aquatic Glassel Moderustic Glass Pellets can be used with many of the vented gas log burners we offer from various manufacturers.  Look for the NEW Stainless Steel Vent Free Glass burning sets from Rasmussen and FireGear this season.

Rasmussen Vented gas logs for single opening fireplaces, see-thru, corner, and also Vented gas logs for Rumford and Kiva style fireplaces.  We also offer a new line of Rasmussen fire shapes, balls, stones, and geometric shapes.

ODS System (Oxygen Depletion System)

Vent Free Fireplace or Gas Log ODS pilot system. Required on all vent free appliances manufactured or sold in the USA.

All Vent Free gas fireplaces are rated at 99.9% efficiency.  All vent free systems will have a mesh fixed screen or a wire draw screen.  Since all oxygen needed for combustion is drawn from the homes interior, glass can not be placed on the front of any vent-free appliance.  All vent free systems are equipped with an ODS (Oxygen Depletion System) to insure that if the oxygen level in the home drops approximately 2% the vent free appliance will shut down.  Some manufacturers would recommend that any smoking object not be burned in the room with a vent free heater as the soot from the object (Incense, Candles, Air Freshener) can be drawn into the burner of the vent free appliance and could cause a sooting incident.

Zone Heating Saves Money!

Energy prices are expected to be at record highs this winter. Did you know that?  Check out our article on Zone Heating.  Zone Heating Saves Money.  Since our vent free / ventless gas logs carry some of the highest efficiency ratings in the market place, you can be sure that they will do the job when the Power is off.  Vent Free Cuts Heating Cost

Are you tired of losing heat from your home through your current wood burning fireplace? There are a few ways you can reduce the amount of heat loss from your fireplace. A simple solution is to keep your damper closed.  Vented Gas Logs require a damper clamp to lock the system open.  If your gas system requires a damper clamp, you could add Glass Doors by Thermo-Rite Glass Doors thereby reducing the heat loss whether you are burning your fireplace or not.

Tired of chopping wood?  Try a set of Vent Free  / Ventless Gas Logs that are 99% energy efficient and see how much heat can really be produced from your fireplace.  The vent free gas log inserts come in many styles to compliment your homes decor and will heat even in a power outage.

Fully Vented Ceramic Gas Fireplace Log

Peterson Charred American Oak fully vented gas fire log insertMillions of vented ceramic gas logs are in use in vented gas fireplaces across the US. These tried and true ceramic vented gas log sets have been sold for 20 years or more, and are still the most popular type. They are available in lengths from 12” to over 60” (that’s a big fireplace !).

Vented gas ceramic logs are the most realistic wood fire substitute made, and are available in different styles and finishes which resemble oak, birch, hickory and many other wood species. This realistic beauty comes at a price; vented gas logs are also the least efficient of the three types. They consume from 50,000 to 90,000 BTU/HR of Gas. The efficiency is rather low, meaning that only 10% to 20% of this heat is returned to the home. The rest goes up the chimney, much like your old wood fire did.

Fully Vented Ceramic Gas Fireplace Log - See-Through (2 Sided Gas Log)

Technically speaking, the reason Vented Gas Logs look so good is they intentionally burn the Gas “dirty”. A dirty gas flame is a yellow flame...which simulates wood very well. Peterson Charred Oak see-thru (2-sided) gas fire place log insertThe glowing embers found on most of these vented gas log sets add to the charm and realism. The Vented Gas Log Sets are also the most flexible - logs can be moved around and repositioned, remote controls and wall switches are available and additional logs, embers, branches and pine cones can be added. If you are looking for the most realistic fire, and don’t have a heating problem in the room or in your home, then the Vented Gas Ceramic Logs may be a good option for you.

Some newer vented gas log sets have been upgraded to use less gas than the standard models and certain brands actually produce noticeable radiant heat into the home.  The Monessen Duzy series and Wildfire series return up to 20% heating efficiency.

Vent Free Gas Logs - Ventless Gas Fireplace Logs

Vent Free Gas Logs are the complete energy efficient marvels of the new innovative technology. Today Ventless Gas Fireplace Logs come with oxygen depletion sensors to provide you much safer, less polluted, clean burning promoting instant warmth.

Empire Charred Oak Vent Free Ventless Gas Log InsertAre you seeking to get delight from fiery log fire as well as fully efficient, 100% heat generation? Then answer lies at Vent free Gas Logs! If your objective is to reinstate your wood fire, bring in some monitored space heating and provide a backup emergency option of heat source to make your home warm (off course, they can also work during power failures), then Ventless Gas Fireplace Logs may be your ultimate solution !

So, here comes the wonder of modern state of art technology - Vent Free gas logs! Vent free / ventless gas logs have become exceptionally trendy in the past three years, and their sales in numbers are rapidly catching up with the sales of the vented logs.

As the name suggest they are "Vent Free or Ventless". That means they don’t require a chimney and hence the amount of heat produced is circulated within the confined place of your home.

Vent Free Multi-Sided Gas Log Systems - 2 Sided See-Thru Gas Logs

Peterson Evening Fyre G18 See-Thru (2-Sided) fully vented gas fire place log insertThe vent-free gas log sets we offer are multi-sided designer yellow flame log set for use with a See-Thru, Peninsula or Corner firebox’s.  You will enjoy the multiple roaring flames and high efficient supplemental heat from this massive artistically crafted ceramic fiber log sets.

These sets encompasses state of the art vent-free technology and realistic heat radiating ceramic fiber logs. With its glowing surfaces and dancing yellow flames, it provides high efficient supplemental heat to warm your home. Available in 18", 24" and 30" log sizes with a variable heat output up to 40,000 Btu's.

"Vented" vs. "Vent Free" - What Type of Gas Logs You Need?

Do you want a realistic looking, wood fire substitute? Are you more interested in the most efficient way to heat your home? Here are some facts that should help you choose between a vented or vent free gas log set.

Vented Gas Logs:

  • These logs must be installed in a fireplace with a fully functional chimney, to draft the smoke and combustion gases from your home.

  • These log sets have been available for over 50 years and are still the most popular.

  • Vented logs are the logs that most resemble a realistic wood fire.

  • They use an open damper, which limits heating efficiency. Just like burning a wood fire, most heat escapes the chimney and only a small amount is returned to your home.

  • Vented log sets are more flexible. Logs can be repositioned according to preference.

Vent Free Gas Logs: (Non-Vented / Ventless / Unvented)

  • Vent Free (also known as non-vented, unvented or ventless) logs do not require a chimney.

  • They keep 99 percent of the heat produced in your home, and are very efficient as a primary heat source.

  • All units are equipped with an ODS (Oxygen Depletion Sensor). This device cuts the flame off if the oxygen level in the air drops below a safe level. This situation is very rare.

  • Vent Free logs cannot be repositioned once they are installed. This is due to vent free log sets having to maintain a complete clean burn which requires the logs to sit on the grate in only one way.

  • Some states (California, Massachusetts, and a few others) require special permits in order to operate non-vented appliances indoors. It is the customer's responsibility to know his or her local codes and limitations.

  • Click Here for a map of states and regulations regarding installation of vent free / ventless / unvented/ non-vented gas logs.

Advantages of Vent Free or Ventless Gas Logs

Easy installation
Since the mechanism does not involve the installation of chimney, installation of Ventless Gas Fireplace Logs is a very easy, smooth process and can be erected almost anywhere.

Inexpensive Nature
Gone are the days, when you were required to collect the logs of costly firewood. Vent free gas logs come with their own sets of gas logs which cut down the costs significantly.

100% energy efficiency
As, the Vent free gas logs don’t require the chimney any more, it ultimately becomes highly energy efficient. In other types of gas logs which involves chimney as their venting source, almost 80 to 90% heat escapes through chimney, which is prevented in these systems.

Clean flame
Because of the specific burner elements present in the system, this system produced much more controlled burning compared to their other counter parts. This controlled burning helps in producing clean, yellow flame causing complete burning of the gas logs.

Reduced Pollution
Due to the controlled burning, very less amount of carbon monoxide is released in the air, which is the by product of the combustion process. Reduced amount of carbon monoxide release means reduced pollution.

ODS pilot assembly used on all vent free ventless gas fireplaces and gas log inserts manufactured and sold in the USA.Moreover, vent less gas log certified by the American Gas Association (AGA) or Canadian Gas Association (CGA) come with Oxygen Depletion Sensors (ODS). These sensors can trace and identify the level of oxygen present in the room. If in case, the oxygen level in the room gets depleted beyond the marked level, then these sensors cut off the gas supply to the logs resulting in stand still of the system. Again if these sensors become defective due to any reasons, the system automatically switches over to safe mode where it cuts of the gas supply.

No ashes, sparks
Unlike their previous counterparts, there is a complete absence of any dirty ashes or dangerous flash and sparkles thanks to the presence of spark screen.

Control Options
It gives you the facility of instant on and off. You can control the system by both ways- manual or remote.

Creosote Buildup
There is no more creosote buildup, a thick yellow to brownish oily substance derived from wood tar or possibility of chimney fires.

Advantages of Vented Gas Ceramic Fireplace Logs

Gas logs deliver the cozy ambience of a fire in the fireplace without any of the preparation, maintenance, and cleanup that real wood fires demand. They provide stunning realism and warmth, as well as safety features to put your mind at ease. You can add gas logs to an existing fireplace or installed in ventless versions very inexpensively and can also be used as a back-up heating source during power failures because they require no electricity.

What do vented gas logs use for fuel
Gas logs use either natural gas or liquid propane. Natural gas logs are the most popular option and typically generate more heat than logs that use liquid propane, which are generally used only in places where natural gas is not available.

How are vented gas logs different from ventless gas logs
The primary difference is that ventless gas logs can be operated with the chimney damper closed, which keeps significantly more heat in your home while vented gas logs operate with the damper open to produce a flame that looks more similar to a real wood fire flame. Basically, ventless gas logs provide more warmth than ambiance and vented gas logs provide a more realistic flame with stronger ambient firelight.

Are vented gas logs expensive to operate
Because they are about 25% efficient, vented gas logs are generally quite expensive to operate.  A gas log's BTU (British Thermal Unit) output determines how much fuel it will use. Contact your local gas provider for current information regarding specific gas and operation costs.

Which produces more heat, vented or ventless gas logs
Because most of the heat generated by vented gas logs is lost through the open chimney damper, they are more ideal for ambient light and a realistic flame. Ventless gas logs are much more efficient, and therefore use less energy to generate more heat in the home.

How do I determine the right size vented gas log for my fireplace
Use your fireplace's measurements to help find gas logs that do not fit too tightly along the side and back walls or us our easy sizing guide to determine what vented gas log will best fit your existing fireplace.

Can I adjust the flame on vented gas logs
Typically, gas logs do not have adjustable flames but some models with rotary control valve options allow you to regulate the flame.

How are vented gas logs constructed
Gas logs are made up of the burner and the fireproof "log" that conceals it. These logs are usually made of molded refractory cement, fired ceramic clay, or molded ceramic fibers.

What is the difference between standard and see-through vented gas logs
Standard gas logs are for standard, front-view fireplaces. See-through style gas logs are specifically designed for multi-sided fireplaces. These gas logs have a special burner system that directs the fire in such a way that it looks appealing and natural from various angles.

Should I use a carbon monoxide detector in conjunction with a vented gas log
Any energy source can produce carbon monoxide, which is why a detector is recommended in every home.

Can I burn wood in my gas log fire
Never attempt to supplement a gas log fire by adding any combustible material to it, including wood. Nor should you remove gas logs from the fireplace to burn wood. The additional heat created by burning wood can damage gas logs and void your warranty.

What are some optional controls for my vented gas log
Base models of gas logs include controls inside the fireplace to ignite the gas logs. Some models can be operated by remote control or wall switch while others can be controlled by thermostat or timer to increase efficiency.

What is the purpose of a safety pilot on a vented gas log
A gas log safety pilot stops the flow of gas in the event that the pilot goes out or the normal flow of gas is irregular. This automatic shut-off valve prevents the buildup of gas in the home or stops the flow of gas to the gas log if the fire becomes too hot.

Do the embers around my vented gas log burn and will they ever need to be replaced
The glowing accent embers that complete the look of many gas logs do not actually burn and therefore do not need to be replaced. They are made of a mineral called rock wool that is organic and fireproof.
